How to apply for a visa

If you get an admission letter from the desired university or institution, then you have to apply for a visa to come to Germany from Pakistan. You need to find out as soon as possible what type of visa you want to apply for.

Where can I get my visa?

Important Note: A visa application can take several weeks or sometimes several months to process.

What documents will be required for a visa?

It is best to seek information from the German Embassy or Consulate in Pakistan, but you will usually need the following documents, along with a completed visa form:

1 Proof of health insurance

2 Proof of financial resources (see details below)

3 previous educational certificates

4 German / English language certificate

5 University Admission Letters

6 Data A Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Proof of financial resources

Evidence of financial resources confirms that you can afford to pay for your education while living in Germany. For this purpose you have to declare assets of eight thousand Euros (approximately 660 Euros per month). It is best to ask the German embassy in Islamabad in which case you will have to provide proof of financial resources. In principle, you can provide this evidence in a number of ways.

1 Proof of parental income and assets

2 Proof of receiving a scholarship from a recognized scholarship foundation

3 In the amount of eight thousand euros in one account

4 Bank guarantee

5 A German resident or your relative agrees to bear your expenses
